Agent skills: knowledge your agent installs.

An agent skill is a pack of instructions — conventions, gotchas, and workflows — that drops into your repo and teaches the agent how this product works. StartupKit ships entrepreneurial skills: how to research a market, scaffold the SaaS, and work the launch checklist.

What ships

Skills that come with the scaffold.

startupkit init embeds the startupkit agent skill into the new repo. Your agent reads it before the first prompt — conventions, deploy commands, auth wiring, and how to use the MCP research tools against this project.

Install them anywhere

npx startupkit agents.

Don't want the scaffold? The skills install standalone — `startupkit agents` writes the skill files into your existing repo so your agent gets the same conventions on a codebase you already have.

terminal
npx startupkit agents

Skills, tools, and a scaffold — one account.

The skill teaches the agent how; the MCP server is what it calls. Both free.
