Launch · Guide
How to launch a startup.
The honest version: validate before you build, ship on boring infrastructure, and treat directory and press submissions as the real launch — not the tweet.
The playbook
Five steps, in order.
- 1
Validate the market
Pull keyword volumes, competitor rankings, and app-store data before writing code. If nobody searches for the problem, no launch saves you. StartupKit Research tools run this from your agent.
- 2
Build on a finished stack
Don't spend week one on auth and billing. startupkit init scaffolds a production SaaS — Next.js, Cloudflare, Stripe — so the agent spends its effort on your product.
- 3
Prepare the assets
Name, domain, paste-ready copy, brand kit, and the launch checklist. The checklist (startupkit_checklist) tracks what's done and what's missing.
- 4
Submit everywhere
Directories and press are the durable part of a launch — the listings keep ranking after launch-day traffic dies. Directory submissions run through StartupKit Launch.
- 5
Track and iterate
Checklist progress and gap reports (startupkit_checklist_progress / _gaps) tell your agent what's left — submissions pending, copy gaps, next actions.
Work the checklist with an agent.
The checklist tracks itself — your agent marks items done and reports the gaps. Free account.
